About Opportunity Ministries
We provide safe, drug free and affordable living to allow men and women to grow in their recovery from addictions and strengthen their spiritual conditioning.
Currently, we have four men's facilities and one ladies' facility in Anne Arundel County, MD.
OUTCOMES OF OPPORTUNITY HOUSE
• Develop health and wellness
• Grow and become responsible
• Operate as a team member
• Learn to live life in recovery
• Become a productive member of society
• Help and mentor other men and women in their recovery
We welcome referrals from health care providers and local substance abuse treatment centers but do not offer clinical rehabilitation or detox services on site. Instead, each Opportunity House offers sober living in a safe, structured and supportive environment. If you are seeking information on licensed health care providers such as inpatient rehabilitation centers, detox facilities and other clinical care, contact Maryland State Alcohol and Drug Abuse Administration.

About the Opportunity Ministries Team
Mickey - Mickey is Opportunity Ministries’ Director of Operations. She is one of the first people that prospective program participants will encounter, and her encouragement and enthusiasm are sure to uplift them in their journey. Mickey is passionate about social service. Currently, she is nearing completion of her Addiction Counseling degree from Anne Arundel Community College. Her twenty-four years of sobriety enable her to stand as a model, especially to women struggling with substance use disorders. She treats each and every person who comes through the Opportunity Ministries program as if they were her own family. Mickey is also the House Director at the Ladies’ Opportunity House in Glen Burnie.
Larry - Born in Pennsylvania and a Maryland resident since 1986, Larry is a Naval veteran and a small business owner. His determination to help others was a driving force behind the development of Opportunity Ministries. He is the House Director at the Men’s Opportunity House in Glen Burnie and he has served the recovery community in various other capacities. Recently, he was invited to participate in an advisory panel to the Alcohol Drug Abuse Administration of Maryland, in order to develop statewide, minimum guideline requirements for supportive housing. In honor of his continual efforts to serve Maryland citizens, Larry was awarded a citation of recognition by the Maryland House of Delegates in 2012.
